Center for Hunamities and Arts Education (website)

Center for Humanities and Arts Education was founded on August 1st, 2012 from the transformation of “Humanities and Social Sciences Group.” The group was set up by the Center of General Education in 2003 and it was composed of faculty from various fields including management, law and politics, philosophy, education, art, and history. Currently, the Center's eight full-time lecturers with the cooperation of part-time lecturers from different specialties such as music, economic, law, and art are responsible for the education of the university's humanities and arts.

Center for Languages and Cuture (website)

The Center for Languages and Culture was previously the Division of Foreign Languages Teaching, subordinated to the Center for General Education. With the establishment of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences in 2012, the Division was integrated into the college and renamed itself as the Center for Languages and Culture. The Center has adjusted Chinese and English courses, ranging from language courses to classics and cultural courses, aiming to facilitate environments for language learning and value of cultures.

The Center for Languages and Culture at Kaohsiung Medical University offers a range of courses and services to develop students’ language capacity and prepare students with communication skills. The language center is a platform for language learners and professional teachers, and a place supporting teaching and learning of languages and cultures with technology.

Center for Physical Education (website)

The Center offer courses and activities to help students get sports experiences, enjoy the moment of doing sports, feel out the charm of sports and derive satisfaction and sense of accomplishment with the help of all the movements of body. Thus, students will be trained to become successful learners, having a good physical fitness and able to establish lifelong exercise habit. Creativity and fun teaching are strongly implemented to enhance the outcome of student’s learning and further improvement in their personality and morality.

Center for Fundamental Science Education (website)

Centre for Fundamental Science Education emphasizes the basic science comprehension of abilities of the student. It also promotes the ideas of  Center for General Education concerning developing and opening relevant core curriculums. It aims to train the ability to develop theories in students and provide them with solid foundation in natural science.

Chinese Language Center (website)

This center was former language teaching section, belonging to the Center for General Education and was in charge of foreign language teaching. When the university established College of Humanities and Social Science in 1st of August in 2012, the section became the teaching unit and changed its name to the Center for Languages and Culture. This Center integrate Chinese courses and teaching and become specific unit for language teaching. In 2014, the Center planned to establish The Chinese Language Center (CLC), to be in charge of Mandarin teaching affairs and in 1st of August, it’s officially listed into the article of the university.

Due to Kaohsiung Medical University is a professional medical university, Mandarin teaching has aimed its market as well. CLC will dedicate to develop medical Mandarin courses and materials and make efforts to Taiwan Mandarin teaching.
